California Large Group Medical Insurance

By Jeannie Monette

Group health insurance contracts can be renewable each year, and the insurance laws of the state provide for this as mandated, provided also that the employee is not remiss with the premium payments. It can be at the employer's discretion to continue providing group health insurance to their employees, but if they are considered large employers or those with 50 or more employees, they are obligated to offer this to their employees. Those considered small employers, or with less than 50 employees can opt to continue with providing the group plan, although this can also be the better motivation factor they can offer to employees.

Group medical and health plans offered by one company may not be the same with those offered by others. The medical and health plans may be regulated by the state, although many employers may opt to choose the medical plans that will be more beneficial to their employees. It is normally believed that employees will get more motivated and will work harder, if the benefits they are getting will be very advantageous to them. This is a good motivating factor given them, the good medical and health benefits they are getting, and more so if their dependent family members are included in the group medical plan.

Just because the employers chooses the insurance plans because they are paying partly, they should also choose the kind of insurance plans that employees will like. The plans should motivate them, so that they will become more productive. The plans are designed to cover the health needs of employees, and there are even some group insurance plans that also give coverage to the direct dependents of the employees. Insurance providers may have several insurance plan types and employers will just chose from there.

Employees don't need to fear that claims will not be paid because the state regulates insured group health plans. Government regulations will be those giving protection, giving assurances that insurance beneficiaries will be able to avail of the health benefits provided for in their group health insurance plans. There are some instances though that a company will fund and assume the health benefit needs of their employees, and the funds coming from a pool of funds set in reserve by the company. This can come from very large companies, or those with more than 100 employees and they are self-insured.

Employers will abide with rules and regulations pertaining to insurance in their state, so that they can be able to provide their employees with the better insurance benefits that they can. There are many different insurance plans available from insurance providers and they can choose their own, but if they are thinking of the well-being of their employees, they should get the better medical and health plans. The premium plans may cost more, but one can also see the better benefits offered in these kinds of medical plans.

In the over-all, group insurance is more beneficial to employees, with the many health and medical benefits they can enjoy, and at premium costs that are not exactly high for them. They get savings because their employers are paying partly the costs.
