It is not possible to become an accountant unless one completes the course. Thus, abandoning the course somewhere along the way will be a very bad idea. Completing an accounting degree is not the end of the road. It is simply but one step in the journey towards becoming an accounting professional. After the degree is over and one has been able to obtain his degree certificate, it is highly advisable to pursue a certified accounting course. This will make an individual to be a certified accountant.

Completing the degree is just but one side of the equation. The other side involved undertaking a certified accounting course. Those with diplomas and certificates will first need to complete a financial degree before they can start the certification process. With some financial degrees, there are exemptions that will be given. It all depends on the units studied in university.

Passing CPA exams is usually the dream of every graduate accountant. However, very few people usually end up achieving that at the end of the day. These are the people who end up in high financial positions. Of course, CPA is not rocket science but that does not mean it is easy. One will need to study hard.

Becoming a CPA does not mean that one is experienced. The two are totally different things. A freshly minted CPA is someone that knows a lot of theory. That is a good thing but it is not the only thing that is needed in the world of accounting. One will also have to amass a good deal of experience.

In the world of business and finance, experience is the gold standard. There is nothing that beats experience. An experienced accountant can be able to carry out many duties with little effort. He is in a position to advice management about very serious financial matters. Having more than two decades of experience makes a professional to be an expert.

Accounting did not start yesterday. It has existed for centuries. In addition, it will not end any time soon. It will continue existing till the end of the world. There will always be accountants in America. Being an accounting professional is a very prestigious thing. There are many rewards that are associated with working in finance. Definitely, the pay is good.
